The AADC have opened a section of their awards for current members of AWARD, BADC, PADC & MADC*. Deadline is 18 February. You can find all details and enter the awards on line at www.aadc.com.au.  Log in as an AADC member but make sure you include which association you are a member of (acronyms as above*) immediately after your surname.  If this isn't included, unfortunately your entry will be invalid. I had lunch with the Glue Society* founder/creative director Jonathan Kneebone the other day. It was an MADC event so we weren’t alone; in fact there were about 150 of us dining on those perennials chicken (him) or beef (me) at The Point in Albert Park. Maybe you were there, too. It was my first Melbourne advertising function in seven or eight years and, after working on and off in Amsterdam since 1998, I have to confess that I had a few reservations about what might be in store for me. more>>
BRIAN BRANDT. NOVEMBER 5 1929 – OCTOBER 4 2004
When film photography was the only option, Brian Brandt was the preferred option for graphic designers and art directors in Melbourne. It was almost impossible to escape a Brian Brandt photograph in Australia in the late 20th century. Magazines, newspapers, billboards, advertisements, posters, catalogues, booklets, brochures, packaging and websites carried his work. more>>
